Hysteroscopy

Untitled1.png

A hysteroscope is a telescope introduced into the cavity of the uterus (womb) to look for causes of heavy or irregular periods. The equipment is mostly used for looking into the cavity and a biopsy of the lining of the womb may be taken. It is also be used to insert surgical instruments to operate within the uterine cavity, called operative hysteroscopy. Endometrial polyps and submucous fibroids are surgically removed under hysteroscopic guidance.
